Burckhardt Compression is now offering an non-brand specific online open training session. This course is open to companies and individuals with responsibility for the safe operation and maintenance of process gas compressors.
This training imparts general knowledge about compressor theory, components and how to maintain and safely operate process gas compressors. As this training starts from scratch, no prior compressor knowledge is required.
What are the course objectives?
The following topics will be covered during the course:
- Hazards associated with reciprocating compressors
- Compressor theory
- Component identification and function
- Bearings (design, operation, failure modes)
- Frame lubrication system and ancillaries
- Compressor operation:
- Maintenance procedures practice:
– Valves: Removal, inspection, replacement
– Bearings: Fitting, measurement of bearing components, clearance measurement methods - Fault-finding and troubleshooting
When is the training taking place?
The training takes place over three half-days from February 1st to 3rd.

Who is the course for?
This training course is designed for people who will be working on and operating process gas compressors.
It is designed to give candidates the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to carry out their day-to-day duties.

How many people are in a training group?
The number of participants in a group is limited to 12 to ensure efficient knowledge transfer.
A minimum number of 3 participants is required to realize the training.
Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis.
How much does the training course cost?
The early bird course price applies CHF 590 if you register before December 20th, 2020.
The regular course price is CHF 690.
Will I receive a certificate of participation after the course is over?
